City of Emmons Celebration of the Nation's 250th Birthday
Begins: 6/27/2026 - 8:00 AM
Ends: 6/28/2026 - 12:00 PM
Save the dates for the town's celebration of the Nation's 250th birthday. Main Street will be blocked off from Hwy 69 to State Street. Lake Street E and W will be blocked off at Main Street. Emmons Ave will be blocked off at State Street. Event Detours in town as follows: Going East (towards Diamond Joe), take 3rd Ave to Pearl St, to Lake Street E. Going South (toward Joice), take State Street to Apricot Ave.
DECORATE your property for the occassion. Best decorated property will receive a CASH PRIZE!
Event Schedule is as follows:
SATURDAY, JUNE 27th (bring your own chairs for outdoor events)
- 8:00 to 12:00 Car Show Registration 8:00am to 9:00am $10 fee 9:00am to 12:00pm Judging Classes: Ford, Chevy, Dodge and other models. 1st Place cash prize and Overall Best of Show. Location: Church parking lot. Drinks and rolls in the morning, sandwiches served at 11:00am
- 8:00am to 12:00 Tractor Show Registration 8:00 to 9:00 $10 fee 9:00 to 12:00 Judging Classes John Deere, Case, Moline, Ford other model’s 1st Place cash price and Overall Best of Show. Location: Southwest corner of Church parking lot. Drinks and rolls in the morning, sandwiches served at 11:00am
- 8:00am to 12:30pm Cornhole Contest Registration 8:00am to 9:00am $10 fee. Starts at 9:00am ends at 12:30pm. Winner gets cash prize.
- 10:00am and 11:00am History Tour Wagon Ride of the town. Additional ride at 12:00pm if enough interest. Begins in front of the Library or pick up a map at the Library and walk the tour at your leisure.
- 11:00am to 2:00pm food & beverage trucks downtown.
- 1:00pm to 4:00pm Bingo at the Senior Citizen Center
- 1:00pm to 3:00pm Root beer floats by the American Legion sponsored by the Emmons Civic Improvement Club
- 1:00pm to 4:00pm Bouncy House & Face Painting downtown
- 1:00pm to 1:30pm Whistlers Show by Fire Hall doors (Bring your own chairs)
- 1:30pm to 4:00pm Firemen Water Ball Contest downtown
- 4:00pm to 7:00pm Hamburgers, Hot dogs and sides. Free Will Donation to Sons of the American Legion (SAL) Location: American Legion
- 7:00pm to 10:30pm live music Location: American Legion
SUNDAY, JUNE 28th (bring your own chairs for outdoor events)
- 10:00am Sunday Church Service at the Veteran's War Memorial. If it rains, service will be held at Emmons Lutheran Church.
- Spuds and Sundaes will be served in the church Large Social Hall after the service.
